These foxy mugs have been decorated using the wax resist technique. (See video)
The pattern is first drawn onto the bisque fired hand built cup, then a wax resist is applied to the pattern. Once the wax has dried, the glaze is applied to the cup. When it is stoneware fired, the wax burns off leaving the patten with the glaze.
It is quite a long drawn out process, but fun to do and lovely results!
Each cup is unique in its own way - one has toadstools and one has flowers and butterflies.
The inside is fully glazed in a blue botz glaze.
Perfect for your morning cuppa!
